GIRLS NEXT DOOR & THE XTENSION CHORDS
Rated PG-13
112 min
College student Beca (Anna Kendrick) knows she does not want to be part of a clique, but that's exactly where she finds herself after arriving at her new school.
Thrust in among mean gals, nice gals, and just plain weird gals, Beca finds that the only thing they have in common is how well they sing together. She takes the women of the group out of their comfort zone of traditional arrangements and into a world of amazing harmonic combinations in a fight to the top of college music competitions.
Doors open at 6:15.
Founded in 1971, the Girls Next Door are the University of Illinois’ premier female a cappella group. These thirteen women are diverse in background and interests, but all share a passion for music and take pride in their ability to push the limits of female a cappella. Each semester, the Girls Next Door curate an extensive repertoire spanning an array of genres and styles to perform at venues all across campus. More than just a musical group, the Girls Next Door empower women to celebrate confidence, diversity, and the unique bonds shared between women.

Hailing from the University of Illinois, The Xtension Chords is a competitive all-male a cappella group composed of fourteen strapping young gentlemen. For over thirty years, the group has provided audiences with tight harmonies, smooth choreography, and, last but not least, good looks. They perform all over the UIUC campus, both at private events and public concerts, as well as all over the Midwest for audiences of all ages! The Xtension Chords compete yearly in ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A cappella), including advancing to the semifinals in 2021 and 2022. They have a new single "G-Train" on the way. Make sure to check out their YouTube and other social platforms to stay up to date with all of their upcoming projects.
